Bringing a one-shot snap-shot of the towering fountain of international indie animation together in a single program is a tough job – but MIAF is up for the challenge!! This is that program. It opens with one of the most charming examples of puppet animation we’ve seen in a long time, it finishes with a full-on blast of crazy surrealism that would do any Late Night Bizarre program proud, and in between it spools out into an eclectic coterie of deeply imaginative animated artworks that delve into an equally diverse range of stories, exemplifying the totally unique properties of animation.
