The Amazing 3D Stereoscopic World Of Theodore Ushev
Bulgarian born, Canadian based Theodore Ushev is one of the most remarkable animators of our age. Prolific and with an astonishing animating virtuoso talent, he has created one of the finest bodies of work of any living animator. His latest film, Blind Vaysha (MIAF’s Official Opening Film In International Competition) is a stunning example of this immense gift.
Ushev is one of the boldest and most original innovators within the 3D stereoscopic animation space. Each film surpasses the last with the way he harnesses the unique properties of 3DS to drive their artistic potential. Ushev travels to MIAF especially to screen a program of his best 3DS films and at the conclusion of the screening will sit down to discuss his work and take questions.
AND there is a BONUS! This program includes two recently restored pioneering 3DS films made the legendary Norman McLaren at the NFB in the 1950s.
